today we continued to talk about our colors! We read a book about different colors of fruit. We practiced sorting, writing, and reading color words in centers. In math we learned about counting in different arrangements. We practiced counting objects arranged in circles, rectangles, scattered and lines. In religion we painted pumpkins! We turned this fun Halloween craft into a service project by painting pumpkins that will be donated to the Oosterman Rest Home in Melrose!
Kindergarten had the most purple today! We got the school spirit award!
We had a very busy week! We learned the letters d and s, we read stories about colors, talked about color mixing and using colors to describe objects. In science we experimented with natural and man made materials and in Religion we learned about God's helpers in our lives! Have a great weekend! Today we read "Mouse Paint" and experimented with mixing colors. In math we learned about comparing numbers to determine which is bigger or smaller.
Can you build a house that will stand against the big bad wolf? Today we used marshmallows, straws, toothpicks, and tape to build sturdy houses.
So many new things in Kindergarten!
Today we learned about the letter a in fundations. Tomorrow we will cover the letter g. In Math we practiced all the ways to show numbers - we can write the number, number word, tally marks, ten frames or use objects! In Reading we read the story of the Three Little Pigs. This week we will be comparing the story with the True Story of the Three Little Pigs, talking about perspective, and creating venn diagrams. In social studies we talked about our character traits. This week in religion we are talking about Mary. We are learning all about how Mary is the mother of Jesus and praying the Rosary. |
