Today we started new units! In reading we will be talking about famous Americans. Today we learned all about Betsy Ross. In math we started talking about measurement. We learned the words short, tall, shortest, tallest, length and height. In religion we learned about making the sign of the cross. We are almost done with the alphabet in Fundations. Today we learned the letter y. In science we will be studying states of matter.
We have had a busy week! This week we finished up with our addition practice and moved onto subtraction! Subtraction is very tricky and we have practiced taking some away and writing the number sentences. Next up is word problems! In reading we continue with our color unit! This week we read Caps of Many Colors and practiced labeling, sorting, and writing. We also learned about nouns. We read "In the Deep Blue Sea" and discussed the features in a nonfiction text. In religion we learned about the Holy Spirit. We learned that the Holy Spirit is God's helper. We can be followers of Jesus by listening to the Holy Spirit and asking for help. In social studies we continue to practice sequencing. We have been practicing retelling life events using the words first, next, then, and last.
